Spotlight on our Teachers
If one looks at our staff credentials, it is easy to see that each and every teacher has the knowledge and experience to educate our students.
What cannot be put on paper is the true gem of our Faith Center teachers: their devotion and passion for their students, their craft, and the Faith Center mission.
Aimee Briant has been our Strings Director for the past 12 years. She studied violin under the Suzuki method at BMus Hartt School, received her teacher training and masters at Hart, and also studied under Linda Fiore, Ronda Cole, Michelle George, Carol Sykes, and more. She was a former principal second violinist with Rivers Symphony Orchestra, is the current concertmaster of the Essex County Summer players Orchestra, a member and soloist with the New Sussex Symphony, a former member of Liao Trio and Woodland Quartet, current member of Strings con Spirito, former assistant director of MA Suzuki Festival and former director of the NJ Suzuki Workshop, owner of Crescendo Suzuki Studio, workshop clinician in US and Mexico, board member for the New England Suzuki Institute. Aimee loves the community at Faith Center. She loves walking down the halls and seeing people dancing, singing, noodling on instruments, drawing, and hanging out in almost every nook and cranny of the building. Aimee loves observing the work going on in every classroom, as well as the process of starting something new with a child and seeing them grow with it. Her love for the arts and care for each students shows in every class she teaches. Her family (all string musicians!) are looking forward to starting the 100 days of practice challenge.
Kimberly Jackson has been our Dance Director for the past 7 years, teaching at all locations. She also is our resident choreographer for our yearly musicals and Summer Theatre Camp. After receiving her BFA in Dance from Montclair State, she danced and choreographed professionally in Off Broadway and regional productions before finding her home at Faith Center. Kimberly’s love for her craft and ability to share her knowledge in different styles of dance is reciprocated in the enthusiasm and creativity her students bring to class. She was recently seen performing with Jon Batiste in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade; it has become a fun yearly tradition for her students to find her on TV.
