Acting – Practical Improv ages 10-12 10:30-12:00
Develop the ability to think and respond in the moment to every situation, using professional style improv games. The end result of the games produces better communications skills, increased concentration and the ability to think quickly on and off stage. The class will also enhance the students’ creative thinking, public speaking, and listening skills and promote eye contact and teamwork. At the end of six weeks students will demonstrate what they have learned either live or via video.
Dance – Story Telling through Dance ages 5-9 10:30-11:30
Storytelling through Dance (ages 5-9): students will be able to re-create their favorite stories through dance with use of music, props, and dance steps taught throughout the 6-week workshop. Students will perform their finish work either live or in video format.
Band – Band Lesson Program 12:00-2:30
For musicians looking to continue their instrumental instruction in a live setting. Lesson groups will be established based on age, and ability of each musician. Social Distancing requirements will be taken into consideration when establishing lesson groups. Each lesson group will be 30 minutes long. The instructor will establish lesson groups prior to the first-class meeting.
Dance – Boys Dance music Video 12:00-1:00
Students will create a music video using skills and techniques developed in the class. Students will be given a song, learn and rehearse choreography, and have their performance filmed in a “music video” style.
Acting – Skit in Six Weeks ages 9-12 1:30-3:00
Students will explore basic acting techniques including expression of the body, voice, imagination. Students will explore improvisation and the use of external stimuli. At the end of six weeks students will perform an original script either live or via video.
Acting – Performance Improv ages 12+ 3:00-4:30
Students will learn how to respond to unplanned situations in effective and creative ways. Using situational based games and activities with twists thrown in, students will develop skill sets used to get a show, game, activity, or performance back on track by helping fellow actors and using improvisational skills to cover up unplanned scenarios. They will learn how to enhance empathy, teamwork, and quick thinking in the process.
Dance – Jazz Dance – 3:15-4:15
This jazz dance class provides basic skills for the performer who is interested in musical theater. Students will learn fundamental dance steps and combinations that are seen and done at musical theater auditions and workshops. This class provides the foundation for a student to feel more confident when attending a dance audition for community theater productions.
Students are required to wear black jazz shoes in class. In order for students to learn the techniques of dance through specific, individualized instruction, the instructor must be able to see every muscle working.
Female dancers are to wear jazz pants and a closely fitted top to dance class. Male dancers should wear a T-shirt and black pants they can move in comfortably. No street clothes or jeans are allowed. If a student does not come appropriately dressed for class, the instructor has the option to ask that student to observe and not participate in class.
Students are expected to spend 15 minutes per day, four-five days per week reviewing the exercise combinations in order to memorize the pattern of the combinations so class time can be focused on the correct execution of the steps. Once the dance to be performed is learned, students are then expected to practice the dance four-five days per week for 15-30 minutes per day.
Students will participate in a live performance at the conclusion of the six-week class either live or via video
Vocal – Coda Choir – Ages 13+ 4:30-6:00
Open to students 13 years of age or older; no prior singing experience is necessary. Students will be introduced to proper breathing, vocal placement, and diction as they learn and perform standard 4-part choral literature. At the end of the six-week class students will present a finished ensemble work via live performance or video.

Acting – Stage Combat ages 10-12 10:30-12:00
Stage Combat is a fast-paced, six-week class that focuses on familiarizing students with the essential requirements for performing safe, effective stage combat.
The emphasis is on the development of technique, focusing on accuracy, safety, and the fundamental techniques needed to protect the actor when engaged in dramatic physical encounters. Activities are appropriate for students ages 10-12.

Orchestra – String Ensemble 3:30-5:30
Students will learn and perform standard ensemble literature. Students develop their overall musicality including balance, phrasing, style, and independence of parts. Students are expected to practice and learn their ensemble music during their regular, daily practice time. At the end of the six-week class students will present a finished ensemble work via live performance or video.
Band – Wind Ensemble – 3:30-5:30
For the more advanced player. The Wind Ensemble is for students with 5 or more years playing experience on their instrument. In the Encore Wind Ensemble, students will meet in person each week for 90-minute rehearsals. Students will learn more advanced ensemble literature at an accelerated pace. At the end of the six-week class students will present a finished ensemble work via live performance or video.
